Although stoneware and porcelain clay are dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water is recommended to preserve the original appearance.

I personally put all my tableware ceramics in the dishwasher, but I do so with care, making sure to use the top rack as it isn’t as aggressive as the bottom. I chose a cycle that takes only one hour and make sure there isn’t any heavy item near it that could move during the washing and potentially weaken my ceramic by hitting it repeatedly. 

I strongly suggest avoiding the microwave with all handmade ceramics.
